Today, the 1st of December, is not only The Icelandic Sovereignty Day but also The Icelandic Music Day. So I feel it’s the perfect moment to announce that I've recorded and put to print my first solo CD. It’s called Nýir vængir (New Wings) and contains 29 Icelandic song-pearls, old and new. Conductor, pianist and multi-musician Bjarni Frímann Bjarnason plays the piano with me, we recorded the music with Bergur Þórisson in church of Seyðisfjörður last winter.
The release is planned for the 18th of December online, and will be followed with the physical copy soon after.
A little early bird will be out very soon and if you click here it will automatically be added to your Spotify library the moment it’s out. It’s called Húsið mitt (My House) , written by composer Halldór Smárason especially for me (thank you dear wonderful friend) to a poem by Sigurður Pálsson.
